This is my first Shamino bait cast reel. I''m never really sure how much I like a new reel until I have caught a few fish on it and in the 3 weeks since purchasing the Cardiff 301A I have fish it 3 times catching 32 black bass, the largest 6 lbs 14 oz, and I could not be happier. The reel is so light and has such a smooth retrieve that I can cast all day but it also has the muscle needed to crank big bass out of the grass or heavy cover. Most important the drag always slips cleanly no jerking or hanging up when a big ones put her head down and makes a run. Had a few backlashes at first but after adjusting the friction cast control it cast perfectly now even in high wind. Great Reel! John
